Vascular Surgery Update | Jeffrey Jim, MD, FACS

  • Understand the epidemiology and pathophysiology of carotid artery disease.
  • Explain that rationale for carotid revascularization in select patients.
  • Describe the advantages and risks with endarterectomy and stent placement.

 

The Modern Approach to Lipid Lowering Therapy | Mike Miedema, MD, MPH

  • Describe the recent data on the safety of statin therapy
  • Describe the novel lipid lowering medications that have recently become available
  • Describe the potential benefit of combination lipid lowering therapy to reduce cardiovascular risk
