Participants will have a greater understanding of neuroanatomical structures and functions that inform psychotherapeutic intervention and assessment. Participants will also have an enhanced understanding of the types of research that can and need to be conducted at the interface of the creative arts therapies and neurosciences. The 6-hour workshop will include didactic instruction, case examples, art experiential, and interactive discussion to emphasize the objectives. The objectives of this course are to: Educate the audience on basic neuroanatomy and brain systems as related to the creative arts therapies and psychotherapeutic process Educate the audience on neuroscience principles and theories that underscore creative arts therapies and psychotherapy intervention with a particular focus on the use of the Expressive Therapies Continuum as a diagnostic and assessment tool Educate the audience on current neuroimaging technology that can help to inform creative arts and psychotherapy processes through a range of methodological approaches Juliet L.
